UOI: Students reflected on their knowledge of the Water Cycle by making illustrations on a sheet on paper. To know more about human impact on the Earth’s natural cycles; students were shown cover puzzles of man-made and natural disasters. Later, they reflected on their understanding through the ‘I see, I think, I wonder’ strategy. Students enjoyed going for a field trip to a Nursery where they inquired about plants which help cure seasonal diseases such as dengue, heatstroke, jaundice etc English Integration: Students enjoyed listening to relevant content from the books ‘Too hot too cold’ and ‘How weather works’. English: Students attempted a summative assessment on sentence formation and punctuation in groups. While one group was given a blend and a diagraph with which to form sentences, they rolled a cube of interrogative words to form a question. Another group was given 4 letter blends or three letter words to make a sentence. Similar strategy was used to form questions with the given words. To enhance their listening skills and vocabulary development, students enjoyed listening to the story ‘Too hot too cold’ Math: To develop their knowledge about non-standard units of measurement (capacity), students were shown some pictures on the smart board and asked questions like ‘Why can’t the elephant fit into the tub?’ and ‘should we fill the pool with the glass?’ Later, they were shown bottles, cups and other containers which they arranged in order from smallest to largest capacity in the order of how much they would hold in terms of water, beans beads, blocks etc. To know more about Standard Tools of capacity, students were shown a medicine cup (5 ml) and other measuring cups of varied capacity. They were also shown one litre bottle of a cold drink. Recapitulation of ‘Half past time’ concept was conducted where in students picked up written chits, read them and then drew the hands of the clock on their slate board. Students attempted Summative assessment of subtraction through an online game. Hindi: They were introduced to four letter words like ‘gardna’, ‘ksart’, ‘ajagar’, ‘bacapna’, & ‘sharbat’ through flash cards. Later they wrote these words in their process journals and made illustrations. Students were narrated a story ‘Boondi ki Kahani Paani’. Later they were given an opportunity to re-narrate the story in their own words. Recapitulation of Hindi sentences learnt so far was undertaken. PE: Students practiced all the skills related to football by playing inter-class matches. Students took part in a special assembly and recited poems related to their current unit Natural Cycles.
