UOI: Students discussed the task given to them over the weekend pertaining to Land Pollution. They discussed what they saw when they went out with their parents. Some of them shared the pictures of the polluted site. Students were shown a visual presentation on land pollution which was followed by a discussion. Later they reflected and illustrated their understanding on a given sheet. Students were introduced to a rhyme - ‘The Planting Song’ which they enjoyed reciting. English: Students were introduced to punctuation ‘Question Mark’ through a Power Point presentation. Later they discussed its usage in day-to-day life. Students formulated questions using the 5 W’s (who, what, when, where, why) and ‘how’ – using a geometric cube and wrote them in their process journals. Recapitulation of rhyming words was done through group activities. Students were given floor games for reinforcing rhyming words. They moved from one end of the room to the other by jumping on the rhyming word cut-outs. Math: Students were introduced to 3D shapes – cube, cuboid, and cone along with their properties. They looked around the classroom to find similar shapes and illustrated the same in their process journals. In a sorting activity, they were given 3D shapes in a mixed pool and were asked to sort them according to their properties. Hindi: Students practised writing two letter words (dva, hva, hra, dal, chaar) in their process journals. Introduction of vyanjan ‘kha’ was done through a ‘dumb charade’ game. Later, they practised its formation through sand tracing and slate writing. Students recapitulated two letter & ‘aa’ matra words done so far, through a game of options. They picked up a card with a word written on it, read and explained its meaning to their peers. To enhance their vocabulary, students were narrated a story ‘Char dost’ which they thoroughly enjoyed and asked many questions related to it. Circle Time: As a part of Early Year’s Skill building program, students practiced how to pick up a chair. Music: Students learnt a song on Holi – ‘Holi aayi Holi re’. They practiced singing the chromatic scale in ascending and descending order. They also presented the ‘Earth Song’ in a group. PE: Students practiced how to hold a racquet with correct body posture. They also practiced balancing the lawn tennis ball on the racquet, while standing in a stationary position or while moving forward with long strides. They also enjoyed playing a game of football.
