Key Concept:
Provocation: Provocation and prior knowledge assessment on Pollution was conducted on the students through “I See-I Think-I Feel” activity. Students were taken to a station where they were shown few pictures portraying effects of pollution. Later anecdotal records were made about observations made by each student. Students continued to pursue their first line of inquiry – ‘Types of Pollution’. They watched a video on pollution which was followed by a brainstorming discussion in class with questions like ‘How does Mother Earth look like in the first part and the second part of the video’? and ‘Are we responsible for it’? Students enjoyed doing a sorting activity in which they sorted flash cards and categorized them under Land, Air, Water and Noise pollution. English: Students were introduced to fixed phonogram ‘wh’, through a wheel in which they had to try and read words from the ‘wh’ word wheel and identify pictures related to it. Later students practiced writing ‘wh’ related words in their process journals. They also learnt the phonogram 'sh' with the help of LMA. Math: Recapitulation of ‘ascending’ and ‘descending’ order of numbers was done through a ‘Number train’ game. Numbers were written on the hands of students and they were asked to arrange themselves according to ascending and descending order. Later they practiced writing the related numbers in their process journals. Reinforcement of odd and even concept was done through a ‘Treasure Hunt’ game: students had to find hidden objects kept in bowls in the class, later they counted the number of objects in the bowls and placed them under odd or even tags. Revision of addition was done through an ‘Addition Story’ which was narrated to the students and later they had to form addition equations from the tale (numbers upto 20). Students also attempted a task-sheet on addition. Hindi: Students were introduced to new two letter words: ‘ghar’, ‘oon’, ‘ras’, and ‘ek’. The vyanjan “ha” was introduced to the students through an online presentation, later students wrote the same in their process journals. They also made illustrations of objects related to the vyanjan. Dance: Students tried a combination of basic hands and feet positions with different type of music. Techniques of Dancing Statues helped them to work on their coordination. Music: The students revised the patriotic song “Desh hamara sabse pyara” and sang it collaboratively during the Republic Day Assembly. They have started learning a cartoon song ‘In the world of my dreams’. They also practiced the motivational song – ‘Umeedon Wali Dhoop’. PE: Students learned skill building motor activities like running stance. Special Assembly on Republic Day Fun with Jr. NBA
