UOI: Students were shown a visual presentation on the cause and effect of air pollution. The facilitator explained all the possible reasons for air pollution and what could be done to control it. The students thereafter inquired by asking questions related to air pollution. Later, they reflected on the presentation and illustrated the same. In a practical demonstration, an experiment on air pollution was shown to the students. A candle was lit and then covered with a Pyrex cover, demonstrating how smoke around us can make things dirty. Students understood that the soot from the burning candle was responsible for pollution. As a part of print media literacy students watched an online presentation to understand the meaning of ‘smog’. Reference was made to the conditions around Delhi & NCR around Diwali time. English: Students were involved in recapitulation of sight words which was done in groups. They were engaged in a ‘Roll and Write’ activity where they rolled the dice and practised writing the sight words accordingly. They also played games like ‘Tic-Tac-Toe’ and ‘Snakes and Ladder’ using sight words. Students gave a ‘Take and Talk’ presentation on their ‘Favourite destination’ they travelled to in the recent times. They presented it with beautiful props, cards and charts. Introduction of blend ‘cr’ was done with a ‘word hunt’ game. Students were given the cut-outs of the pictures & letters which they had to group together and form a meaningful word. Math: Students were involved in reinforcement of place value which was undertaken with bead material. Later they attempted a task sheet on it. Students also attempted a task-sheet on addition. Hindi: Formative assessment on ‘Aa’ maatra words was conducted. Students were introduced to vyanjans ‘ch’ and ‘da’ through a visual presentation. They practised the formations through sand tracing and slate writing. They also practised writing and illustrating vyanjan ‘ch’ in their process journals. Students enjoyed the narration and discussion of the story ‘Jadui Bartan’. To enhance their vocabulary and spelling formations, a dictation was conducted for two letter words. Circle Time: As a part of Early Year’s Skill building program, students practiced how to wear gloves. Art: Students were exposed to a colour wheel and used different shaped insets on the doodling they had done previously. They will create an artwork using complementary colours in these shapes in the coming week. ICT: Children were given a choice to use their favourite educational app on the iPad and to explore it further. They were very excited and had fun playing on it. Dance: Students danced using a combination of steps, in groups of four. They also practiced a routine for the UOI presentation. Music: Students learnt a cartoon song ‘In the world of my Dreams’. They also practised the School Song and revised songs learnt previously in class. PE: Students learnt mini-tennis and practiced lifting a racquet using the right hand grip. Fun times!
