UOI: The students were involved in an interesting experiment with the globe and torch to see how day and night are formed. They also sorted objects into day and night activities. Students were familiarized with Diurnal and Nocturnal animals through a PPT, which was followed by a sorting activity. Students were introduced to the concept of ‘Light and Shadow’ with a Sun Dial . They explored how it was used in olden times; they marked the position of the Sun and shadow during different times of the day. English: Students were divided into pairs for guided reading of phonic/blend books. They were introduced to the fixed phonogram ‘oo’ and made sentences using blend/ phonogram words. In groups, students enjoyed ‘Picture reading’ where they expressed their thoughts and opinions on the given picture. Math: For the provocation of nonstandard units of measurement, students watched an online presentation and were introduced to the terms ‘hand span’, ‘cubit’, ‘stride’, etc. Students measured a table using hand span and cubit and were then taken to the corridor to measure its length using strides. Later, students brain stormed on how the stride of a tall child is different from that of a short child or the stride of a teacher is different from that of the students. Students were introduced to various terms related to measurement of height, weight, length etc. Hindi: Students continued practicing short sentences in their process journals. They were introduced to vyanjan ‘sha’ through a video. They understood its formation by writing on the slate and sand tracing. Later they also practiced writing it in their process journals. During their circle time students practiced their social skills by practicing how to excuse themselves for going to the washroom ICT: Students continued learning to explore fun activities on the laptop with a few instructions that helped them in handling the mouse and keyboard better. PE: Students practiced free hand exercises and enjoyed playing football. Music: Students were introduced to western music notations. They learned about 'TREBLE CLEF' and 'BASS CLEF' and how to sing and play the scales for both. They were demonstrated to play both the clefs with right and left hand on the keyboard. The students played the scales on the keyboard one by one. They also learned to sing the song "Count on me". Dance: Students tried a combination of basic hand and feet positions set to different types of music. Techniques of Dancing Statues helped them to work on their skills of coordination. Art: Students interpreted their composition on a “hot summer day" in their art journals. They also learnt the basics of Portrait making.
