With reference to the central idea ‘Family relationships contribute to shaping our identity’ students were shown a presentation on people displaying values. As a part of media literacy they were shown some advertisements based on family values followed by a discussion about the values they display at home. Students were narrated a story ‘Caribbean family history’ and discussed values imbibed by a family. Students were also shown a story related to the family history of Abraham Lincoln. They also attempted a formative assessment on the second line of inquiry. Students recapitulated the sight words done so far through LMA and ‘In a minute’ game. They practiced reading ‘ed’ and ‘eg’ words through an online story. Later they practiced writing these words in their journals. Students attempted an assessment on sight words through ‘Musical chairs’ game. They were also read a story ‘Families are different’ followed by a discussion. Students practiced reading and writing simple sentences using the sight words and the three letter words learnt so far. Tuning in to the concept of addition students were narrated a story showcasing addition. Students used manipulatives to solve various addition problems. Students also practically experienced by roleplaying different addition related problem solving situations. Later students made their own addition sums in their journals. Students were introduced to a number line and how to use it solve in addition problems. iIn Hindi, students were introduced to the swar ‘aiy’ through a video. They understood the formation through sand tracing and slate writing. They illustrated the vocabulary with the swar ‘aiy’ and also practiced writing the swar in their process journals. Students revised primary colors through a game. They also learnt a new rhyme ‘Chunnu Munnu’. In ICT, students revised phonics through playing educational games on Ipads.
