Deepening the understanding of the central idea ‘Family relationships contribute to shaping our identity’ students were shown pictures of Nehru Gandhi Family and were asked questions related to them. They were also shown a story related to the life of Jawahar Lal Nehru followed by a discussion. Students also went for a field trip to the ‘Teen Murti Bhavan’. Students enthusiastically made coupon cards for their grandparents for the grandparents’ day. Students recapitulated the ‘at’, ‘an’, ‘ag’ and ‘ad’ family words through a treasure hunt game. They attempted a formative assessment on these words through various activities in the classroom. They were introduced to ‘ed’ and ‘eg’ word families through a presentation. Provocation to the concept of addition was done by showing them a Plus sign and asking questions like which sign is this? Where have you seen this? How it is used? Students were assessed on their understanding of the concept of Place value using various manipulatives. Students practiced writing ‘ai’ in their process journals and illustrated the vocabulary related to it. As a part of ‘Hindi Saptah’ students played a Bingo game on fruits and vegetables. They also enjoyed tongue twisters in Hindi. Students had fun learning a new rhyme ‘Hilmil kar rehna’. As a part of early year skill building activity students worked with a blunt needle and thread. In their Art class, students created a family tree using hand prints and pasting cut out of apples on it representing their family members.
